Spring is here, and area farmers markets are getting ready for a new season. Most plan to open in June, but the one in Zimmerman will be opening May 24.
The farmers market in Zimmerman prides itself on allowing only locally grown products.
That means that even baked goods like banana bread must contain something locally grown or produced, such as the eggs in the bread.
People can expect more than banana bread, as all sorts of baked and canned goods will be on hand for purchase.
People can also expect fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, eggs, honey and maple syrup.
The Zimmerman farmers market opens May 24 from 3–6:30 p.m. so people can purchase bedding plants including assorted vegetables and flowers.
Those hours are the same every Tuesday through September. Then through October, the hours are 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The market will be located in downtown Zimmerman, across from the American Legion.
