Lacrosse: ERZ girls nipped by Buffalo and Osseo

Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman fell behind early in two straight games and rallied but fell short each time, losing to Buffalo 14-10 on Friday and Osseo 16-15 on Monday.


ERZ trailed by five after first halves in which they were “sluggish” each time, said coach Jeannette Bankes. The result was a two-game skid on the heels of three straight wins  by a goal each. ERZ is now 6-3.


Scoring against Buffalo were Morgan Pierson (five goals), Megan Orrock (two), and Mackenzie Perna, Kayla Mills and Ashley Joel one each. Mills and Perna had two assists each.


Emily Antony delivered six goals and two assists against Osseo, while Perna had five goals and one assist and Mills four goals and six assists. Jordan McLaughlin made two assists. Sam Geissler stopped 22 of 38 shots.


ERZ plays at Armstrong/Cooper on Wednesday night .
