Sadie Martin was meet medalist at the Alexandria Invitational on Saturday and led Elk River to second place among 12 teams.
Martin, a junior, shot 35-40–75 at Geneva Country Club, winning by two strokes over an Alexandria player.
“Sadie was hitting the greens and making good putts,” said coach Dave Bleyhl. “She had four or five putts from six to eight feet.”
Martin picked up her second invitational win, the other being the Benilde-St. Margaret’s meet at Wild Marsh in Buffalo.
Alexandria won with 326, followed the the Elks with 338 and Eden Prairie with 341.
McKayla Granning shot 84, Ashlee Lindeen 87 and Andrew Dwyer 92 for the other counting scores.
The Elks will host Anoka, Armstrong and Park Center on Monday. They’ll have a big week, facing some powerful teams at Red Wing on Tuesday, Bunker Hills on Thursday at Staples-Motley’s meet on Saturday.
