Rogers placed fifth and Elk River seventh among 15 schools at the Purple Hawk Invitational on Monday at Cambridge as both sent junior varsity lineups.
Meanwhile, first-year team Zimmerman placed 14th.
Maple Grove won with 319, followed by Cambridge-Isanti with 321 and Centennial and Andover with 324′s.
Rogers had 332, led by Phil Ballard, who placed fourth with 78.
Elk River had 347, with Garrett Turnacliff and Sawyer Springman each shooting 85 and Mitch Nelson 87.
Zimmerman had 363, led by Derek Faulkner, who placed ninth with 79.
Faulkner made good on a wager, according to coach Kurran Sagen.
“He bet his teammates he would shoot a 79 on the ride up to Cambridge,” said Sagan. “He needed a birdie on his last hole, a 211 yard par 3 hole into the wind.”
Faulkner got the birdie with a five-wood to three feet, and one putt.
