Baseball: Zimmerman tips HLWW 9-8

Kyle Connelly got both the win and a save as the Zimmerman Thunder nipped Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 9-8 on Friday.

Connelly pitched five innings and had a 9-7 lead, and returned to get the Thunder out of a seventh-inning jam.

Luke Schmit had a two-run single while Evan Bye and Austin Koch each had two h its, Koch also stealing three bases.

The Thunder (2-6) host STMA on Monday.
