Olympic medalist to address Active Youth Day crowd

Olympic Silver Medalist Brandon Paulson will speak about the importance of being active as a youth and pursing dreams at the third annual Active Youth Day.

The event is put on by Spectrum High School’s H.A.L.O (Healthy and Active Lfestyle  Outreach) Group and Elk River Parks and Recreation in an effort to promote healthy and active lifestyles in the children and youth in our community.

The 3rd Annual event will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 on the athletic fields adjacent to Salk Middle School at 11970 Highland Road, Elk River.

Events this year will include a 40-foot rock climbing wall, a 60-foot inflatable obstacle course, a punt-pass-kick challenge, a basketball shoot-out challenge, tennis games and demonstrations from a local tennis professional, karate hands-on demonstrations, a golf clinic by a local golf instructor, a disc golf clinic by a local disc golf professional and a youth fitness boot camp.
