More than 1,500 people attended Elk River High School’s Evening of the Arts, Thursday, April 28.
The event offered more than 800 high school students the opportunity to display their talents, ranging from ethnic dances, jazz exhibitions, choir presentations and musicals to digital and video portfolios, poetry readings, art demonstrations, and displays of cultural artifacts.
In addition to the student activities, a silent auction was held for original artworks donated by local artists Jim Loso and Cherene Bebeau with pottery donated by student artists of 2D and 3D techniques.
All proceeds from the auction went to promoting art opportunities at the school. Students also sold original art cards with the proceeds benefitting the CAER food shelf.
