DECA students place at conference
Four DECA students at Minnesota School of Business (MSB) placed in the top 12 at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Fla. this month.
DECA is a business-student international association that applies classroom theories to real-world experiences through competitions, conferences and professional networking.
The Orlando conference is the highlight of the DECA competition year and not everyone gets to go. Students had to qualify and place in the state competition in Mankato to secure a spot in Orlando.
Eleven MSB-Elk River students qualified and took part in the year-end conference and nine of them were awarded certificates of excellence, which is more than any other Minnesota school represented.
Ben Hoglund, Jennifer Olson, Travis Neumayer and Bjorn Lundstrom placed in the top 12 of their event, with Neumayer placing in the top 12 in two separate events.
