Sadie Martin repeated as medalist and led Elk River to first place among nine teams in the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Invitational on Monday at Wild Marsh in Buffalo.
Martin shot 85 on a wind-swept day. Teammate Ashlee Lindeen was second with 86 and another Elk, McKayla Granning, tied for third with 89. The other counting score was Nicole Thorndahl’s 94.
The Elks scored 353, with Armstrong next at 370 and BSM third at 383.
The Elks have won this event twice in three years, and placed second last year by one stroke behind BSM.
The Elk River Invitational is scheduled for Tuesday.
