Elk River musicians Joe Shaheen and his daughter Becky will perform with their respective bands at the Fine Line Cafe in downtown Minneapolis, one of the twin cities’ top music venues, on Wednesday, May 11.
“There will be four bands, and Becky will headline at 10:30 p.m.,” said Joe Shaheen.
Joe and his band “The Wrong Omar,” are slated to take the stage at 8:30 p.m. They do a “warm blend of roots/folk/rock with some blues harp and a little quirk thrown in,” he said.
Becky, a senior at Augsburg, will sing, accompanied by guitarist Aren Olson, drummer Fred Torvick, and Joe Shaheen on base. Olson is a fellow ERHS graduate and Augsburg senior, and co-writes music with Becky.
“Becky’s band can be summarized as a hook-oriented blend of pop/rock/acoustic with some jazz influences as well,” stated Joe Shaheen.
Joe’s band includes Tom Hels of Elk River along with Bob Groethe (Joe’s cousin) and Chuck Gordon.
