Rivers of Hope plans seminar on violence

Rivers of Hope is offering a seminar, “Building a Community Coordinated Response to Domestic Violence,” May 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Monticello Community Center.
Seminar topics include:
•Finding and helping the “hidden victims” —responding to children at the scene.
•Victim and officer safety — assessing threats and lethality.
•On-scene investigation.
•Beyond the obvious — a community coordinated response to domestic violence.
Continuing education credits are offered from the Minnesota Board of Social Work, Minnesota Board of Continuing Legal Education and the Minnesota Post.
The cost is $25 and covers lunch and seminar materials.
