Baseball: Rogers top Princeton 12-9

The top of the lineup had a productive day as the Rogers Royals picked up their first win 12-9 over the Princeton Tigers on Monday in Princeton.


The Royals’ first three hitters were Neal Smith, 2-for-5 with two runs; Will Terres, 2-for-5 with three runs; and Chad Miller, 2-for-4 with two runs.


Bjorn Bloom delivered a two-run single for the Royals (1-2).


Blake Schermer got the win, throwing five innings, giving up seven runs (three earned) with five strikeouts. Dylan Morris finiished, giving up three runs (one earned) in two innings, striking out three.


Kyle Norman was 3-for-4 with three steals and three runs for Princeton. Chad Shodeen took the loss.


The Royals are scheduled to host STMA on Tuesday.
