The Zimmerman Thunder broke loose for their first win, 18-2 over the Becker Bulldogs, on Thursday afternoon.
Kameron Crandall led the route as he went 4-for-5 with a double, five RBI, and four runs scored, and was the winning pitcher. He threw four innings, allowing two runs, five hits and three walks, striking out five.
Matt Milless was also 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI, and Luke Schmit 3-for-5 with three RBI. The Thunder had 21 hits, and five others had two hits each.
The Thunder (1-2) also had a no-errors game in the field.
Christian Korlath pitched a scoreless fifth inning as the 10-run rule was imposed. Taking the loss was Becker’s Matt Miller.
Crandall had a hot week at the plate going 9-for-12 in three games. He also signed with a college team, UM-Crookston, on Wednesday.
Zimmerman will host Buffalo on Monday.
