Baseball: Morrell, Elks stymie Coon Rapids 5-1

Elk River baseball is off to a 3-2 start, following their second straight well-pitched road win Thursday.

Tucker Morrell twirled  a five-hitter to beat Coon Rapids 5-1 , giving up a run on three errors in the first.

The Elks made no more miscues, and got a two-run double from Sam Krick and an RBI single from Matt Williams in the fifth.

On Wednesday, the Elks won 9-3 at Blaine on a complete game by Brandon Meyer.

The Elks will play at Armstrong on Monday.
