Area prom season kicks off today

Zimmerman High School and Rogers High School will kick off prom season today with grand marches at their respective schools.

The Zimmerman Thunder are planning “Casino Royale,” according to prom adviser Susan Nelson.

There are 260 students signed up for prom. Grand march will be at 4 p.m. Admission will be $4.

Dinner and dance will follow at Northern Lights in Pease.

The Rogers Royals are gearing up for “Unmasked,” according to prom adviser Marissa Getty.

The grand march for these prom-goers and the community will be at 4:30 p.m. in the RHS field house.

The dinner and dance will be at the Metropolitan Ballroom.

Spectrum High School is having its prom on April 30 at Greenhaven in Anoka. This year’s theme is “A Starry, Starry Night.”

Elk River High School is planning a “Soiree in the City” for its 2011 prom on May 21. Its grand march will be at 4 p.m. at Elk River High School.

Prom will be at International Market Square.
