The Rogers girls golf team placed sixth in the conference opener on Tuesday in Becker, after placing 13th among 17 teams at the Monticello Invitational on April 6. to start the season.
Coach Durand Onell says it’s a young team without much varsity experience and several newcomers, although the turnout of 18 girls is the most he’s had.
“I think the girls are doing a great job considering the fact that our home course (Fox Hollow G.C.) is still under water and we haven’t had much practice,” said Onell. “I have a great group of girls and am looking forward to a fun season.”
