Lois M. Cable, 67, of Elk River, formerly of St. Paul, died peacefully of cancer in her home Sunday, April 3, 2011.
Her many talents included sewing and quilting, making beautiful decorated beaded ornaments, baking that was treasured by all and summer perennial gardening.
According to her family, “Above all, she especially loved being a grandma and was a very loving mom!
“Though her battle with cancer was a tough fight she loved life and lived to its fullest while enjoying quality time with family and friends.”
A celebration of Mrs. Cable’s life will take place at 5 p.m. today (Saturday, April 9) at Central Lutheran Church, 1103 School St., Elk River. Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m.
Survivors include her sons, Brian (Lisa) and Scott (Kari); grandchildren, Karissa, Scotty, Jamie, Jaren, and Jayson; sisters, Dorothy (Nick) Kovach and Patricia (Tim) Merrick; brothers, Val (Barb) Koppy, David Koppy, William Koppy, John (Roseann) Koppy, Tim (Ann) Koppy, Joseph (aka Buddy) Koppy; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; and sisters Celestine (aka Sally) Kersting and Beverly Koppy.
