Mary Lavina Hagel, 89, of Elk River, formerly of Hanover, died peacefully Saturday, March 26, 2011.
Mrs. Hagel was a St. Benedict Oblate, published poet of religious poetry and an accomplished pianist.
Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, March 31 at The Church of St. Andrew in Elk River. Interment was at St. Michael’s parish cemetery in St. Michael. Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice. Dare’s Funeral and Cremation Service made the arrangements.
Survivors include her children, Terri Jones, Tom (Bonnie), Ed, John (Kathryn) Marie Muller, Catherine (Craig) Johnson, Roland, Armella (Ray) Ott and Mary Ann Hagel; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen (Catherine) Ball, Cletus (Jessie) Ball, Clement (Betty) Ball and Linus (Beverly) Ball; and son-in-law John Muller.
