Sabrina Hoover, three-time state all-around gymnastics champion from Rogers, will continue her career at Winona State.
Hoover won the Class A crown in 10th grade, and the Class AA titles plus balance beam 11th and 12th grades.
Hoover’s mother, Shannon, confirmed the announcement, adding that Sabrina will major in graphic design and advertising.
“We are extremely happy to have Sabrina Hoover, a very talented and gifted gymnast, join our team at WSU next season,” said Warrior coach Beckie Rolbiecki. “We are graduating six seniors this year and feel that Sabrina can fill some big spots in our lineup.”
Hoover will rejoin former Elk River-Zimmerman-Rogers teammate Jena Jondahl, who was Division IIII national runner-up in vault this year as a freshman.
“The team is very excited to be getting Sabrina,” said Jondahl.
“With Sabrina and Jena together in the lineup,” said Rolbiecki, “we look forward to having two big players to build our team score from.”
Winona is a small-college power. Its roster also includes two-time state all-around champion Anna Gleason of Roseville.
