Two Elk River-based groups are among those receiving grants from the Central Minnesota Arts Board (CMAB).
Elk River Arts Alliance will receive $5,400 to help with 11 artist exhibitions.
Command Performance Choirs will receive $4,500 to help with its spring concert series.
The CMAB awarded 24 Arts and Cultural Heritage Project Grants totaling $99,371 at its March meeting.
Three main criteria are used — artistic quality and merit; ability of the organization to carry out the proposal; and the artistic needs by the organization and community.
Funding is provided through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature with money approved by voters in Nov. 4, 2008.
