Local lawman on curling team that went to nationals

Tim Jeannetta of Elk River is a member of a men’s curling team that earned a trip to nationals Feb. 12-19 in Fargo, by placing second in playoffs at Medord, WI, with a 7-2 record Jan. 14-16.

The foursome is led by Geoff Goodland of Wisconsin, a 2002 world champion team member.

At nationals, the team opened with a close loss to Team Fenson, which went on to win the title and a trip to the world tournament. Jeanneta’s team wound up 1-8 at nationals.

Jeannetta, 44, an investigative sergeant with the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Department, said he will be back in 2012 on a restructured team.
