Water levels high, but no flooding

Water levels are high, but there has been no flooding reported in Elk River as of Thursday, March 24, according to Fire Chief T. John Cunningham. He also is the city’s director of emergency management.
The city of Elk River has distributed 1,600 sandbags so far.
“We will continue to monitor the situation over the weekend as the recent precipitation could impact flooding,” he said.
