William A. “Bill” Harris, 70, of Elk River, died peacefully surrounded by family Saturday, March 5, 2011, of heart disease.
He was born in Owatonna to Arthur & Theresa (Walechka) Harris.
Bill worked for Honeywell as an electrical engineer for 45 years.
He was an avid fisherman, deer hunter, bowler, blackjack player and sports fan. He was proud to be an American.
Bill was an honorable man and a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
A Mass celebrating his life will be held today (Saturday, March 12) at 11 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish Center, 7101 143rd Ave. NW, Suite G, Ramsey. A gathering of family and friends will be 1 hour prior to service at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish Center. Private interment will be at Orono Cemetery. Dare’s Funeral Home of Elk River served the family.
Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Linda (Kammerman-Henry); daughters, Julie (Mike) Breyen, Kim (Robin) Hemp, Dawn (Dave) Florey, Heidi (Mike) Wells and Jody (Brandon) Verdick; grandchildren, Johanna and Kaylyn Breyen, Holly and Ryan Hemp, Brianna and Brandon Florey, Adeline and Eric Wells and Jack Verdick; brothers, Louis (Catherine) Walechka and Richard (Judy) Neumann; and many other relatives and close friends.
