Basketball: Okafor hits 35, Rebels beat Elks 81-44

TJ Okafor poured in 35 points as Champlin Park drubbed Elk River 81-44 on Wednesday evening..

Okafor, a 6-7 senior, is averaging 16 points, with a previous high of 27. He had only 8 points when the Rebels edged the Elks 56-51 on Jan. 18 but dominated the rematch.

Ben Erickson led Elk River with 20 points. Ryan Ness added 8 and Will Iverson 7.

Champlin Park is 20-4 overall and 16-3 for second place in the NWSC behind Osseo (19-1).

The Elks are 6-19 overall and 3-16 in the NWSC with one regular-season game left, against Armstrong at home on Friday.
