Basketball: Giese hits 31, Thunder beat Big Lake 69-61

Brandon Giese poured in 31 points as the Zimmerman Thunder outlasted the Big Lake Hornets 69-61 on Tuesday evening at home.

It was the third 30-plus game this year for Giese, a senior guard averaging 18.8 points.

Blake Ehley added 15 points and Caleb Lunning 13 for the Thunder (7-7 conference, 15-8 overall).

Taylor Otto hit 22 points, Michael Stephens 18 and Brian Larson 10 to lead the Hornets (7-7 conference, 13-8 overall).

Zimmerman will host Milaca on Thursday evening.
