The Elk River Elks had two-goal leads twice and held on to defeat the Osseo Orioles 4-3 at home on Tuesday evening in a game with five power play goals.
Shots were even at 33 each while Elk River was 3-for-5 on power plays and Osseo was 2-for-4.
The Elks (8-7 conference, 10-13-1 overall) prevailed in the rematch against a team that beat them 3-0 on Jan. 8. Osseo is now 12-5 in the NWSC ad 14-8 overall.
The Elks led 2-0 after the first period on goals by Michael Katchmark and Ryan Jaremko, the latter on a power play.
Osseo caught up in the second period on goals by Nolan Schipper and Tim Bonner (power play).
The Elks struck on two more power plays in the third period, with Taylor Bryan scoring at 8:50 and Jared McLaughlin at 9:43.
Osseo got another power play goal, by Aaron Dolby, but just nine seconds remained in the game.
Notching assists for the Elks were Mitch Kierstad, Bryan, Jaremko, Katchmark, Wyatt Ege and Robby Pullar.
Elk goalie Anders Franke stopped 30 of 33, and Osseo goalie Jared Moll stopped 29 of 33.
