Basketball: Elks girls nip Anoka 49-48
The Elk River girls barely pulled out a 49-48 win over struggling Anoka on Tuesday evening in Anoka.
Kayti Hanson scored 13 points, Victoria Jenson 11 and Makenzie Frericks 10 to lead the Elks, who were up 29-28 at the half in a game close all the way.
The Elks are 9-8 conference and 13-10 overall. They won their first meeting 65-49 over Anoka which is now 2-15 in conference and 2-20 overall.
Claire Lundberg scored 14 points for Anoka. Hailee Gifford added 9 and Shauni Payeur 8.
The Elks also had Emily Ecklund with 6, Mikala Macomber with 5 and Annie Sizen with 4.
The Elks will host Park Center on Thursday.
