The Becker Bulldogs turned red-hot in the second half and upset the Rogers Royals 75-67 in Becker on Friday evening.
Rogers led 41-29 at the half, but Becker scored came out firing with a 3-pointer and two 2-pointers for a quick 7-0 run, and wound up scoring 46 second-half points and five double-digit scorers.
“Becker shot extremely well in the second half and we lost our composure for a bit down the stretch,” said Joe Belka, Rogers coach.
Jeremy Wills notched 18 points and Nathan Nohner 17 for Becker, with each delivering six assists as well. Damien Reinke had 11 points and Isaac Smith and Dustin Wander 10 each. Wander led with 10 rebounds.
Becker hit eight 3-point shots. Rogers had five.
Rory Donovan tallied 17 points, Trevor Morlock 12, and Austin Barbeln and Trevor Berkley 10 each for Rogers.
The Royals, who beat Becker 67-44 in their conference opener, Jan. 5, are now 6-3 in conference and 11-6 overall. Becker is 2-7 in conference and 4-12 overall.
Rogers will host Zimmerman on Tuesday night.
