Train blocks traffic when car gets stuck

Elk River police were dispatched to the railroad crossing at Main Street and Highway 10 on a report that a vehicle was stuck on the tracks early Saturday morning Jan. 29.

The vehicle was gone by the time police arrived.

The conductor said the vehicle was gone by the time he made it to the intersection, and that he had to apply his brakes to stop the train due to the report.

The train eventually blocked the railroad crossings at Main Street as well as at Jackson and Proctor avenues.

Officers provided traffic control.
