Self advocacy offers better health options

Dr. Suzy Youngquist, of Revolution Chiropractic Wellness Center, seeks to transform lives by educating and supporting patients into becoming their own personal health-care advocates.

She believes that education is key to empowering individuals to take action and improve their health and overall well-being.

“With the overwhelm surrounding health-care reform, we need to look at what we realistically can do as individuals,” Youngquist said. “By learning proven ways to prevent and actually reverse disease, we can gain control of our own health.”

Since its inception in 2009, Rev it Up was created to teach people tactical ways to gain control and understand their health-care options.

Now in its third year, Rev It Up has empowered hundreds of individuals to take an active role in improving their health and quality of life. From learning how to prevent and reverse disease in session one to being served healing foods on recipe night, the March series seeks to change the way people view health care.
