Roberta “Bobbie” L. Hanttula, 73

Roberta “Bobbie” L. Hanttula, 73 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Elk River, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2011 at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital.
She was born in 1937 to Loren and Katherine Dartt in Adrian, Mich., where she grew up and graduated from Adrian High School. She later joined the U.S. Navy and served as a dental technician.
She was married James Hanttula on March 26, 1969, in Aiken, S.C.
Mrs. Hanttula loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they were very important to her. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Grand Rapids and worked and served on the board of directors of The Community Café.
She was an avid quilter, a wonderful cook, loved her flowers and truly enjoyed her pets.
The funeral service was held Friday, Feb. 4 at the United Methodist Church in Grand Rapids, officiated by the Rev. Marva Jean Hutchens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity.
She is survived by husband, Jim; children, Kathy Warlick of Apple Valley, Calif., Joseph Fisher of Trenton, N.J., David Fisher of Hope Mills, N.C., Paula (Bill) Johnson of Nashwauk, Minn., James “Huck” (Angela) of Bovey, and Victor of Grand Rapids; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special friend, Shirley Hodgson of Grand Rapids; sisters, Pauline Conaway of Idaho, Zook (Allen) Schuch, Sandy (Gary) Woodard and DeeDee (Larry) Griffith of Michigan; brother-in-law, Richard Hanttula and Sister-in-law, Sheryl Hanttula, both of Melbourne, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
