Wrestling: Royals edge Zimmerman 37-35
The Rogers Royals picked up their second conference win of the season, edging Zimmerman 37-35 on Thursday evening in Zimmerman.
Rogers was up 15-0 after three matches and held on. Rogers had three forfeit wins, while forfeiting at two weights, with one double forfeit.
“The boys were fired up and really wrestled well tonight,” remarked coach Matt Leshovsky. “It was a nice win for our program.”
Rogers is 2-4 in conference and 2-6 overall, led by Philip Anderson (16-7), Clay LeVasseur (9-3), Kyle Ysteboe (11-6) and Kyler Swanson (14-12).
Zimmerman is 2-3 in the conference and 7-11 overall.
Zimmerman will wrestle at St. Francis on Tuesday, and Rogers will wrestle at Big Lake on Thursday.
