Schroeder named Rotary Student of the Month for December
Parents: Lisa and Jim Schroeder
Activities and proudest accomplishments: I have participated in National Honor Society, soccer, lacrosse and Nordic skiing. I am proud of being able to balance athletics and academics and have some success in both.
What is your favorite class and why? My favorite class is honors chemistry with Mrs. Mitzuk because she is very enthusiastic and outgoing and knows how to teach very well. My favorite subjects would be math and science because I enjoy learning a lot in them.
What are your future plans? In the future, I plan to go to a four-year college and then dental school because I would like to be an orthodontist.
Hobbies and/or personal interests: I play soccer and ski on the Nordic team. When I get free time, I like to go snowboarding, wakeboarding and tubing.
Who is your hero, if you have one, and why? My hero is my mom because she is always pushing me to do my best, whether it is in sports or academics. She is supportive of whatever I do.
Tell of your most memorable experience that relates to school, hobbies or a personal interest: My most memorable experience would be the Nordic ski winter trip. We had a lot of time to train and had fun with our friends and teammates.
How do you demonstrate leadership? I demonstrate leadership by setting an example and encouraging others to do the same.
How do you approach academics to achieve success? I expect to succeed if I have prepared myself. I have learned that a good education is important to my future success.
What special project have you done in or out of school? I helped my dad design, build and install the bell tower at St. Andrew’s Church.
Why do you think you won this award? I think I won this award because I try to be a good leader inside and outside the classroom.
What does it mean to you? It is nice to be recognized for my efforts. My grandma will be happy.
