Basketball: Rogers boys pull away from Princeton 66-45
The Rogers Royals had a spark at the end of the first half that carried over into the second half as they defeated the Princeton Tigers 66-45 on Tuesday evening in Princeton.
With the Royals leading 26-24, senior guard R.J. Dean nailed a 3-pointer with 30 seconds left, then made a steal and darted for a layup, opening a 31-24 margin at the break.
The Royals outscored the Tigers 35-21 in the second half as they improved to 10-4 overall and 5-2 in conference.
Dean finished with 12 points and several steals. Trevor Berkley tallied 15 points. Rory Donovan and Josh Turnquist hit 10 each.
Domenic Fraboni sank 16 for Princeton (1-5 conference, 4-10 conference). John Jedneak 13 and Joss Jondahl 10.
Rogers will play at STMA on Friday evening.
