Caylee Piersak Benefit
A benefit for Caylee Piersak and her family of Elk River will be held Saturday, Jan. 29 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Time Out Sports Bar, 19232 Evans St., Elk River.
The event will include food and drink discounts, a spaghetti dinner buffet and a silent auction, which will include a framed and autographed Adrian Peterson photo, a framed and autographed Target Field painting, framed and autographed Minnesota Wild photos, a veterinary annual vaccination and heartworm package, tools, silk floral arrangements, gift cards and more.
Cost is $5 per child under 12, $10 per adult.
Last June, her parents took her to the clinic when her off-and-on-again fever would not go away. The strep and mono tests came back negative, but the blood test indicated that she had cancer. Her parents took her to Children’s Hospital where an oncologist confirmed it. Caylee was admitted and treatment was started.
She has been handling everything very well and is in good spirits, according to her family. She will continue to receive chemotherapy weekly for the next six to eight months, then monthly for the next two years.
Proceeds from the benefit and a fund set up for the family will help pay the mounting medical bills.
