Drive Out Hunger is holding its second annual beer and wine tasting event Friday, Feb. 11 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Riverwood National Golf Course in Otsego.
Organizer Lee Ege says this year he hopes to raise $30,000.
The money is needed to purchase new equipment for food shelves, including CAER, as well as expanding client parking.
“Two of the food shelves we want to put commercial refrigerators and freezers in,” Ege explains, “have resorted to storing frozen product off-site at volunteers’ homes, or in one case, in the box of the director’s pickup.”
BOB FM radio personalities will emcee the event while the musical group Generation Now will provide entertainment throughout the evening.
Tickets are $30 per person or $50 a couple if prepaid, and $45 at the door.
They can be purchased at Riverwood National Golf Course, Napa Valley Liquor and at Central Lutheran on Sunday. Otherwise, interested parties can go online at www.driveouthungermn.org.
