The Rogers Royals shook loose 26 turnovers and claimed a 46-32 win over the Monticello Magic there Tuesday evening.
The Royals trailed 6-0 before reeling off 8 straight points at the start of an 18-6 run.
Jordyn Motter with 12 points and Shelby Beach with 8 were the offensive leaders.
“This was a good win for us on the road,” said coach Jeremy Digiovanni. “We got back to doing the things we do best — solid defense and patience on offense.”
Along with all the turnovers, Rogers limited the Magic to eight field goals. On the other end, their patience and balance wore down the opponent, resulting in good looks and free throw opportunities.
Tish Jude netted 11 points and Morgan Sawatzke 10 for Monticello, which lost its fifth straight. The Magic started the season 7-0 but are now 2-3 in conference and 8-6 overall.
Rogers will host Cambridge-Isanti on Friday evening.
