Hockey: Elk boys drub Andover 8-0

The Elk River boys generated their second straight blowout victory, this one 8-0 over the Andover Huskies, at home Saturday afternoon.

Mitch Kierstad led the rout with two goals, one of them shorthanded, and three assists for a five-point outing.

Nick McCormack supplied a goal and three assists. Adding a goal each were Michael Katchmark, Nash Bleyhl, Andrew Zerban, Garrett Aldrich and Wyatt Ege.

The Elks outshot the Huskies 36-11. The Elks were 0-for-2 and the Huskies 0-for-5 on power plays.

Coming off a 15-0 win over North Metro on Thursday, the Elks are 5-2 in the conference and 7-7 overall.

Andover fell to 5-5 in conference and 6-8 overall.

The Elks will play at Robbinsdale Armstrong on Thursday.
