Swimming: Elks cruise past Coon Rapids

The Elk River-Zimmerman swimmers had 1-2-3 sweeps in eight of 12 events as they stayed unbeaten in duals with a 93-80 win over Coon Rapids at home Thursday evening.

The last four events were exhibition, meaning the Elks had clinched the win and stopped counting points.

Coach Denise Eidem mixed up the lineup to keep the score down, with 80 “first-time swimmers” in the various events counting varsity and JV.

The Elks are 4-0 in the Northwest Suburban. Next is the Minneapolis Southwest Laker Invitational on Saturday at College of St. Francis in St. Paul.
