Elk River police did the best they could to make sense of a burglary committed Jan. 9 by three suspects, who allegedly entered a residence in the 19800 block of York Street through the unlocked front door and attempted to start a fight with someone at the home.
After the fight broke up, the three parties left after reportedly stealing a cell phone and shoes from the victim. Police were called at 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 9.
The involved parties were not very cooperative and were withholding information regarding events leading up to this, Rolfe said.
According to the victims, the three suspects randomly came into the house and that they had never been to the house before and never were invited.
This case remains under investigation.
