Ed Nelson of the Minnesota Home Ownership Center intends to tell people who come in contact with distressed homeowners how to get trusted information when he talks at noon Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Perkins in Elk River.
Nelson is the marketing and communications manager for the Minnesota Home Ownership Center.
Annie Deckert, who works on housing issues for the city of Elk River, will also speak at the session, which is free to the public and sponsored by the Elk River Citizens League. Deckert is the marketing and business development administrator for the city of Elk River.
Nelson intends to provide an overview of the current foreclosure situation in Minnesota. He will explain Minnesota’s foreclosure process and how to prepare homeowners to talk with housing counselors and loan officers.
Deckert will talk about the impact of foreclosed homes in Elk River.
