Basketball: Elk boys hot at line but lose to Park Center 80-74

Elk River made 24 of 26 free shots but lost to Park Center 80-74 at home Thursday evening, extending their losing streak to five.

The Elks made their first 23 free shots before missing two of the last three.

Quinton Hooker, a sophomore guard, scored 28 points for the Pirates (2-7).

Ben Erickson notched 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Elks (4-9). Ryan Ness had 17 points. Erickson and Ness were each 8-for-8 on free throws.

Porter Morrell scored 10 points, Will Iverson 7, Tucker Morrell 6, Clay Elrod 4, and Coleman Hayes 3 with 10 rebounds.

Elk River will play at Champlin Park on Tuesday evening.
