While businesses across the state continue to struggle with a rough economy and face additional job cuts, the Elk River Economic Development Authority and Energy City are teaming up to launch a free business educational event series to teach businesses and property owners how to utilize existing programs and services to save money.
Known as Energy City since 1996, the city of Elk River continues to explore new initiatives to demonstrate a commitment to economic efficiency. First of a series of events, “Trim Your Wasteline” brings together experts in conservation, energy efficiency and pollution prevention.
On Thursday, Jan. 27 from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m., experts from the Recycling Association of Minnesota, Minnesota WasteWise, the Minnesota Technical Assistance Program and the city of Elk River will provide information. The event will be at Great River Energy, 17845 Highway 10, Elk River.
“We’re excited to launch our series of educational events this year. In this tough economy, we want to ensure we’re doing all we can to provide the tools and resources available to local businesses to assist them in saving money. As Minnesota’s Energy City, this effort is another way we’re leading by example,” said Annie Deckert, Elk River marketing and business development administrator.
Businesses, property owners and residents are invited to attend this free event. RSVP by Jan. 24 to 763-635-1000. Refreshments will be served.
