Hockey: Antony leads Royal girls over Tigers 7-1

Eighth-grader Emily Antony scored three goals as the Rogers Royals defeated the Princeton Tigers 7-1 on Tuesday evening in Princeton.

Antony got her hat trick with a goal in the first period and two more in the second. She has seven for the season.

The Royals scored six goals in the second period. Madison Lehn had two of them while Nikki Erickson and Makenzie Perna notched one each. Erickson assisted in three goals.

Becca Leshovsky in goal made 30 saves for the Royals.

It was the first conference win for the Royals, who are 1-2 in the Mississippi 8 and 7-9-1 overall.

Suzi Voce had the goal for Princeton (0-4, 4-13).

Rogers will host Buffalo on Thursday at 6 p.m. with a boys game to follow.
