Genealogy introduction offered at Sherburne History Center

An introductory course on “Starting Your Family Genealogy” will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Sherburne History Center in Becker. Mike Brubaker will present some suggestions and advice for individuals interested in beginning their family history research.
In addition to serving as executive director at the Sherburne History Center, Brubaker has been teaching genealogy courses for a number of years. Beginning with this course, the Sherburne History Center anticipates offering a course on genealogy and family history, each month, for the coming six months. Topics will include collecting oral histories, using newspapers for research, and searching military records.
