Chad Miller’s goal in overtime gave the Rogers Royals a 3-2 win over Sartell-St. Stephen on Saturday evening in Sartell.
Miller scored on a power play, assisted by Neal Smith, just 1:16 into the extra session, after an interference penalty on the Sabres.
It was the second goal of the game for Miller, who has four on the season for the Royals (5-5-1).
Miller scored in the first period. Christian Murray of the Sabres (7-5) scored on a power play in the second period, which ended 1-1.
Smith connected for a power play goal 2:57 into the third period, assisted by Miller and Nick Polsfuss. Brandon Kruse tied it for the Sabres at 9:39 of the third.
Rogers was 2-for-3 and the Sabres 1-for-5 on power plays.
The Royals had 28 shots and the Sabres 27. In goal were Robby Vukelich for Rogers and Alex Halupczok for the Sabres.
Rogers will host Buffalo on Thursday evening.
