Hockey: Elk boys lose to Osseo 3-0

Casey Cardille scored twice as the Osseo Orioles handed Elk River a 3-0 loss on Saturday evening in Osseo.

The Elks fell to 3-3 in conference and 5-7 overall while Osseo improved to 6-2 in conference and 8-4 overall.

Cardille scored just nine seconds after the opening faceoff. The score remained 1-0 until 4:33 remained in the game when Cardille hit a shorthanded goal. Aaron Dolby made an empty-netter with :36 left.

Jared Mol stopped all 30 Elk shots. Elk goalie Anders Franke stopped 26 of 28.

The Elks were 0-for-5 and the Orioles 0-for-2 on power plays.

Elk River will host North Metro on Thursday evening.
