Elk dance team 7th in conference

The Elk River Dance Team wound up seventh place overall for the season in the Northwest Suburban Conference after theĀ  main conference meet Saturday in Maple Grove.

The ERDT tied for fourth and fifth in high-kick and placed seventh in jazz-funk counting four five-team regular-season meets and the 10-team conference meet. In the conference meet Saturday, the ERDT placed fourth in high-kick and seventh in jazz. The ERDT missed one of the high-kick meets when they were the only team that couldn’t make it because of a storm.

The Maple Grove Crimson Connection swept all the championships —

Jazz-Funk action

jazz and kick, conference meet and overall season — and captured its eighth consecutive overall crown.

The Blaine Bengalettes placed second in all categories and Centennial, in its best showing thus far, placed third in all categories.

ERDT had one all-conference pick, Rachel Anderson.

Next on the schedule are invitationals at Blaine on Jan. 15 and Wayzata on Jan. 22.

The ERDT will host the sectional meet on Feb. 2.
