Basketball: Elk boys falter in 2nd half, lose to Anoka 70-59
A strong first half and a weak second half added up to a loss for Elk River against Anoka, 70-59, on Tuesday evening in Anoka.
The Elks led 35-22 at halftime, but got outscored 48-24 in the final 18 minutes.
“We played a real good first half,” said coach Randy Klasen. “In the second half. we had too many turnovers and they pounded us on the boards — the same story with many of our games. We need to do a better job of rebounding and taking care of the basketball.”
