Hockey: Rogers boys lose to Lakeville South 5-1

The Rogers Royals gave up three power play goals to Lakeville South and lost 5-1 in the consolation round of the Schwan Cup silver division on Thursday.

Bryan Jungels scored for Rogers (3-4-1), assisted by Neal Smith and Zach Svoboda.

Alex Harvey had the hat trick for the Cougars (2-4), including two  power play goals, plus an assist. Calvin Boecker and John Witala had the other goals.

Rogers goalie Keaten Mumm faced 28 shots and stopped 23. Lakeville South’s Nick Heller stopped  18 of 19.

Rogers had 11 penalties, Lakeville South 10. The Royals were 0-for-10 and the Cougars 3-for-12 on power plays.

The Royals, who won the Schwan bronze division last year, are 0-2 in the silver division and will close against  Burnsville on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
